“I’m so cold!”, Lucy cries while sitting in drenched clothing on the steps of the Supreme Court.

Lucy has accompanied her mama to protest something. Far as she can guess, someone has died. Her mama keeps crying, saying equality is dying.

A squall passes overhead just after her mama left, saying, “You stay right here, baby. Mama’s gonna be right back.”

Lucy’s now shivering. “Mama!” she pleads, “You said you’d be right back!“

A towel to dry her tears and warm her back drops from the sky,

A whisper in her ear says,
