Hold that thought

So I've run across two pictures that resonate on the neural network that is my brain.
This first one I believe I found somewhere on Quora. My apologies for not giving credit to the artist. It was accompanied by some prose about we're all in this line, we don't know what position we occupy but eventually we'll reach the head of the line and be raptured (evangelical), or brought to the light (a bunch more Christians), or just vacuumed up (don't ask). Fun Fact: In the USA this line is about 360 million bodies long; this year It will be made about one percent shorter by the guys in front, but that will be offset by 1.1 percent baby bodies added at the end. The line gets longer.
Can you jump ahead in the line? Possibly. Can you move backward in the line? Modern medicine would have you think so.
So death is simply a Disney ride and life is, well, the line. Lotta shit happens while enduring the wait in the hot Florida sun.

And then there's this. I believe I grabbed this from a review in the NY Times.
It's accompanied by prose which I found pretentious, and a translated poem.
In my mind this illustration and the poem don't complement one another. The poem, while good, doesn't resonate with me, but 'Oh, my!' this does. It applies to so many things. The human here is a pictaphor for species, kingdoms, oneself, relationships, and so much more.
And yes, I think pictaphor should be a word meaning 'visual metaphor'. Why is this not yet a word?

Please return to that thought I asked you to hold.
