Misunderstanding

Some young guy yelled at me in the parking lot, “Uh, man, you left your lights on.” But I heard “Old man, the fights on!” I whirled and fired. Killed a 13 year old child.

Look. I’m sorry. But it’ll probably be overshadowed by something more heinous tomorrow. I’m but a blip on tomorrow’s ‘Gruesome Good Morning Show’, also known by the anodyne, -‘The News’

Ironically, I was on my way to a hearing-aid fitting when this was imagined.
