There’s worse things than putting your foot in your mouth

My brother described a horrible accident witnessed by two of his friends - and you know it’s bad if it involves a wood chipper: Three guys cleaning up fallen trees and branches after a windstorm. They’re tossing branches into the chipper faster than it can digest them and it gets clogged. So Mr Invincible 30 year-old (née dumbass) decides to clear the situation by stomping on the branches at the entrance to the chipper to get it going again. He succeeds. But one of the branches catches his pant leg and pulls him feet first into the chipper. His screams of “HELP ME!” cannot be unheard by his co-workers. Instant Karma for Mr Invincible, I guess, but surely instant PTSD for his co-workers.
My thinking here is that this act of sharing will erase, or at least fade, this particular horror from the horror folder in the filing cabinet that is my memory. Thereby making room for new Halloween scary stories.
Think I’ll go as a wood chipper this year.
Jesus Christ! That's horrifying and certainly ruins any future viewings of the movie Fargo.
